SPRH a 'lil History

Some of you may be wondering, " Where in the heck did these guys come up with Sparkle Panda Rainbow Hunter?"

 Well, here's a bit of the History of Sparkle Panda Rainbow Hunter. 

 It all started with a comic.  And that comic started with a couple.  A couple of jokesters who enjoyed having morning coffee together and making one another laugh. At some point we thought it would be funny to create a comic to showcase our creativity. So we needed a character with which  we could tell the world some of our short jokes. We brainstormed and came up with RUDE PANDA, a super cute Panda  who tells it like it is and sometimes comes off very rude! "She's cute, but she is RUDE!" RUDE PANDA skates and does graffiti of course. She's also a DJ, Bot Maker and cool car enthusiast as well.

 So what about SPARKLE PANDA RAINBOW HUNTER ?!?!  OK. This idea sprung out of the comic in this manner. We realized that some of our Rude Panda humor maybe could come across as being mean or hurtful. We thought about what would the total opposite of our character be? What could our Rude Panda character do that would be border line "selling out" her "personality".  Well, we thought she could star in a movie that would be a HUGE box office hit and make TONS of money for her. This HUGE Box Office Hit  would be a summer time hero movie. What could it be called?! We thought it must be the most opposite of RUDE PANDA  we could think of. Rude Panda is a black and white comic that I draw in real life with markers and ink on paper. So we thought big budget, full color Hollywood movie with loads of special effects would be a great place to start.  The ideas flowed and the words combined  as SPARKLE PANDA RAINBOW HUNTER revealed itself to us as the most hilarious, fluffy and cutesie sounding name for a movie  we could imagine our skateboarding, graffiti writing, DJing and tough loving RUDE PANDA to star in. So that week we created this RUDE PANDA comic .

RUDE PANDA comes across an old movie poster in an alleyway one day while walking around town with her best friend, Kenny the Turtle.

 That's as far as we got with the idea until the guys at NESMaker announced the second BYTE-OFF 2020 competition.  We had already joked about how it would be funny to have our RUDE PANDA character in a video game, so we jumped at the chance to enter something. I had attempted to make a game once before with NESMaker but quickly got frustrated with my limited time to commit to learning and optimizing the tool.

I decided to put the time in and learn how to use the tool while creating a demo with our RUDE PANDA as the main hero!! But what is this game and what will it be called?!? That's when we remembered the RUDE PANDA comic about the ridiculous, fluffy Hollywood Box Office Smash Hit, SPARKLE PANDA RAINBOW HUNTER ! We thought wouldn't that be a great name for an 8-bit NES game?!? YES ! ! So we had the name but what's it all about?? 

 We felt the world around us gripped in fear and doubt. We felt hate growing inside of people.  And we felt we could do something about it.

But how to restore laughter and LOVE to a world shrouded in fear and hatred?  We elected SPARKLE PANDA RAINBOW HUNTER to do the job!!  SHE can help us defeat the BAD MOODS who have taken over and restore the world of LOVE and FRIENDSHIP. 

SPARKLE PANDA  RAINBOW HUNTER has the POWER to BLAST these BAD MOODS and bring back RAINBOWS.

So we ran with it and the ideas kept flowing in! We had a concept and a hero! So on to the next step...?? Who are these BAD MOODS that Sparkle Panda needs to defeat?? and how does she do it??
