Intro

Thanks for checking out the FutuRETROistic Mag/Zine !

Im excited to introduce the itch community to my Magazine project.

This has been a long time in the making project. Since the 90's I have been taking pictures of graffiti as I travelled and created with friends.

I made many physical real life 'zines back in the early and mid nineties. Mostly I would collage stuff together and photocopy those pages to create the layouts. Then it was the tried and true Xerox copiers that got the job done.  I would fold, collate and staple. Then just give them out at shows or skateshops cafes and record stores.

There used to be much more printed material laying around in the windows of stores back in the days. Flyers, zines, comics, stickers, newspapers ect, all lined up for you to dig thru and find that perfect little addition for you.r life.

I found 'zine making to be a way to express myself anonymously and freely. I rarely kept one for myself  usually would just hand them all out. Maybe 50 copies of each was the most I would have printed.

This project in particular is a collection of my photos along with other graffiti photos sent in by friends and writers from around the world.  Some photos are older and somewhat classic while others are modern and new "street art".

My intent is to showcase creativity and inspire others. I thought the Art Toy community needed to have some more exposure as I was inspired many times by folks making their own toys at home. I think it  makes a perfect companion for graffiti. Both being super colorful and highly creative, expressive and nostalgia inspiring. artforms.

I hope this is something you guys have been looking for.
